President 2009 - 2010: Nominations Now Open

07/03/2009

Nominations are now open for the position of CUJO president for the academic year 2009 - 2010.

Next year's President will inherit Cambridge's most forward-thinking and exciting jazz-based ensemble. Recent winners of the National Concert Band Festival and now collaborators with jazz luminaries Issie Barratt and Mike Gibbs, CUJO is starting to stretch its wings outside of its traditional musical confines.

This hugely talented and evolving musical ensemble requires an enthusiastic and driven leader to build upon the successes of recent years, and continue to lead the band in its exciting new direction. Fresh thinking and innovatory musical vision are absolutely encouraged and we look forward to hearing from those talented individuals who are willing to take on the challenge. If you would like more information about CUJO or about applying, please contact Nick Sutcliffe, ns389.

You may propose up to two people by emailing ns389, and nominations will close on 20th March 2009. You may (and are encouraged to) nominate yourself. Naturally, your nominations will be strictly confidential. Nominees do not have to be a current or former member of CUJO.

If you wish to nominate an unusual configuration of candidates, e.g. two co-directors, or a slate consisting of both an MD and President, this may be allowed but only after approval by the committee. Please email ns389 if you wish to discuss this further.

After 20th March 2009, nominated candidates may subsequently be asked to stand for election. After the election, which will be held next term, the chosen candidate's term as President will begin at the end of May Week (after a brief hand-over period during May Week.)
